Homeschooler Gift Guide

While it may seem to early to start thinking about gift buying, let me tell you as a wife of a Canada Post employee that you best start early if you're planning on ordering anything online.

Today I want to share a list of ideas for the homeschool family in your life. We've been so blessed to have grandparents and aunts and uncles gift us items that are heavily used or special treats for our homeschool activities.

While many homeschool families keep things pretty simple in regards to regular supplies and/or curriculum it can be a real blessing to receive items that are sure to be used.

Here's a small gift guide of products that we love having on hand! Anything from Amazon you can view in my Amazon Storefront.

Memoking Pocket Printer

This will be under the tree this year and I'm excited for it! You use an app to print on thermal paper so no ink is required. The paper is affordable and I think it'll be a fantastic alternative to an Instax camera as the film for those works out to be around $1 per picture.

We do a lot of graphic design and I'm sure my kids will love printing those designs and photos onto the sticker paper we purchased to accompany the printer. The paper is linked in my Amazon shop.

Watercolours

We have this set and it produces rich, vibrant colours and the pans last for so long (at our rate of use).

Twinkle Lights

One of the best things about homeschooling is the HOME aspect. We love creating comforting, hygge spaces with warm white mini lights.

Lavalier

We have a couple that we plug into our phone, computer or tablet to do video recording, record instruments or voice overs. It has loads of applications and increases the sound quality and reduces background noise significantly.

Nature Shelf

A cute wooden curio is a fantastic gift that allows kids to proudly display their nature treasures. It can also be sued for toy collections or lego minifigures.

Bookstand

These are so handy to have on hand to hold poetry books for poetry tea time or reference books for when doing art or nature journaling.

Snap Circuits

These are a great no fuss way to introduce or reinforce circuits. Kids will enjoy them just as a toy as well.

Ron Swanson "I Can Do What I Want" Print from Wonder House Creative

Homeschool parents get asked a surprising amount of silly questions like "You're not going to homeschool high school are you?" "Don't you have to keep regular school hours?" etc.

This print is a fun and cheeky response or affirmation ;)

Nature Journal

We use this sketch book for nature journals and notebooking. The paper stands up to watercolours.

Julia Rothman Reference Set

Do you EVEN homeschool if you don't have these books? lol. They should be included in the starter set. I notoriously don't buy books but I have all of these so that should tell you something ;)

Laminator

The best part about being a teacher is the laminating lol. Laminators are fantastic for keeping projects or creating your own dry erase materials.

Oil Pastels

These are often an overlooked art supply but they're great for so many techniques and projects. Having a decent quality set is really helpful. These aren't high end by any means but they're also better than dollar store.

Binoculars

Homeschoolers typically like to spend a lot of time in nature so these inexpensive binoculars will come in handy.

Counting Stars Game by Wonder House Creative

I recently developed this game of dice rolling and wagers. Each constellation card has a constellation that you need to create with dice. Each round involves a wager and the person to best meet the constellation card criteria wins the pot. The game also has unique catch up features and ways to get back in the game after you go bust (hint: Star Rustler). It's loads of fun and approved by all my family and friends that are subjected to my relentless game testing lol. We have hundreds of games and this is my picky kids favourite game. It's available as a printable download for only $4 or you can message me to get a professionally manufactured version.

Rock Tumbler

We don't have this exact model but the reviews are good and we have a previous Nat Geo model. I'm as obsessed with rocks as my kids are and the rock tumbler is a fun way to polish them up. My daughter even makes jewelry from her rocks.

Wonder Mentorship

Know a new homeschooler who could use some guidance and support? I offer a mentorship for homeschooling parents so they can receive help and guidance as they create a homeschool that works best for their family. Through weekly video modules, activity prompts, family date night ideas and access to me for trouble shooting they'll feel supported and have what they need for their own "teacher inservices". Even one month ($18) is a huge help to many new homeschoolers. You can check it out HERE.

So there you have my condensed gift guide for homeschoolers. Obviously these make great gifts for families and kids in general. You can find most of these in my AMAZON STOREFRONT. When you purchase from my links I get a small kickback at no extra cost to you and that allows me to continue to provide content on my blog and social media so thank you!
