Wonder House Creative Guided Research Projects take all the guesswork out of teaching research and academic essay writing. Students are led through a series of engaging activities where they work with the research content in an authentic way while building research skills such as highlighting, paraphrasing, annotations, reading comprehension and more. They will be IMMERSED in the content through linked vetted resources so that when it comes time to write they know the subject well. 
 
They will then be guided by a cut and paste prompt system developed by WHC to write a thorough and concise Persuasive Essay. They will learn to write a strong thesis statement, captivating hooks, seamless transitions, summarizing topic sentences and how to put it all together in a manner that flows and clearly communicates the information they want to put forth. 
 
We also include an example of a persuasive essay so that students gain familiarity with the form and aren't writing something they've never even read before.
