Welcome to the Christmas Traditions study! We hope this study will provide a fascinating look at how the traditions we know and love have come to be a part of our festive celebrations.

This study is meant to broaden our understanding of the holiday and of tradition. It’s meant to help us understand the beautiful tapestry of culture and traditions that Christmas is. It’s full of whimsy, history and creative activities!

The lens on this study is a secular one. Various faith elements are mentioned as they pertain to the origins of different traditions but ultimately this resource takes a broader look at the holiday.

This study is suitable for ages 8 - 16. Many of the activities work for all ages but we’ve differentiated the learning in some lessons. The study overview will break it all down.

Wonder Years activities - ages 8 - 11

Wild Wonder - ages 12 - 16

Grown Up Side Quest - for homeschool moms and teachers!

🎅🏽 Does it ruin Santa for believing kids?

ONE lesson does teach the history of how the figure of Santa has evolved. It doesn’t explicitly “ruin” Santa but it might be best to leave that lesson out.

The traditions covered include the intro to the patchwork of Christmas, advent, Santa Claus, gift giving, stockings, Christmas tree, light, Christmas cards, gingerbread houses, tastes of tradition, Christmas movies and Christmas around the world!

At over 110 pages and 13 full lessons, this is a solid holiday study and perfect for December-schooling!
