Wonder Summit - grades 9 - 12
 
This full-semester English Language Arts course explores voice, storytelling, and communication through a creative, real-world lens. Rather than following a traditional literature-only approach, students engage with language across culture, media, personal narrative, and everyday communication. The course blends analytical thinking with creative expression, allowing students to explore meaning through writing, design, discussion, and project-based work.
 
Students move through structured unit studies that include language exploration, cultural analysis, literary study, narrative writing, and practical communication skills. Activities are varied and high interest, ranging from creative projects and visual design to structured writing and real-world applications such as resumes, reviews, and digital communication.

This course is largely open and go. 
 
All materials are written to be student facing. There is no teacher’s manual (except for course organizer) so there’s no need to flip between books. 
 
Lessons flow in the way they should be taught and include all readings, video links, and instructions for activities. The majority of work is done on the resource pages though a notebook will be helpful for the narrative writing. 
 
Many students will be able to do these units largely independently though we do recommend discussion and interaction to enhance learning.
