This full-semester (open and go) course explores mental, emotional and social health through a practical and thoughtful lens, combining psychology, self-awareness, communication, and science in a way that connects directly to students’ everyday lives.

Students build a strong foundation by examining topics such as stressors, stigma, body image, depression, coping strategies, and emotional resilience through readings, journaling, and interactive activities. The course then focuses on anxiety and the nervous system, helping students understand stress responses and apply regulation strategies like breathwork, movement, and boundaries.

A guided research and writing unit on sleep strengthens academic skills as students investigate sleep science, analyze information, and develop a structured expository essay.

Throughout the course, students also explore relationships, social dynamics, communication, and the impact of social media.

With an emphasis on reflection, creativity, and real-world application, students develop self-awareness and practical tools to manage stress, build healthy relationships, and support their overall well-being.
