NEW NAME!! This is the Level Headed Humans course but I felt the name change was necessary to give a better picture of what the course is! 
 
What does it take to stay thoughtful, informed, and grounded in a world that constantly pulls at our attention, emotions, and beliefs?
 
Level Headed Humans is a 30-hour course for teens ages 14–18 that explores the psychology, thinking skills, and practical habits that help us navigate ourselves, other people, and the world around us.
 
The course moves through three sections: 
 
🧠 Understanding ourselves and how we think
 
🧠 Understanding our communities and how people interact 
 
🧠 Putting it all into practice by becoming more intentional, thoughtful, informed, and emotionally regulated humans. 
 
Students learn why we think and behave the way we do while developing practical skills for responding to the situations, influences, disagreements, and information they encounter every day.
 
Topics include:
 
What it means to be a level headed human
Cognitive biases, mental shortcuts, and cognitive dissonance
Worldviews and what shapes the way we see the world
Why disagreement can feel threatening
Group psychology and social influence
Persuasion and how it affects our choices
Online behaviour and the humans behind the screen
Beliefs, certainty, and intellectual humility
Curiosity and forming informed opinions
Bad arguments and manipulation tactics
Communicating through disagreement
Emotional regulation, thoughtful responses, and keeping perspective
 
Throughout the course, students move beyond learning about these ideas and have plenty of opportunities to put them into practice. Readings are paired with games, experiments, scenarios, discussions, creative activities, projects, and reflection designed to make complex ideas accessible, relevant, and memorable.
