Intro to Microbiology
 
We’re back with another resource in our “Intro to” series that takes high level science and makes it doable for middle school and early high school! Intro to Microbiology opens the doors to the fascinating world that is invisible to the naked eye. 
 
Students will:
learn to identify the parts of a microscope and its history
learn to prepare various slides
use the scientific method to complete labs
write up labs and create their own experiments
complete 6 different labs where they’ll see really cool things under the scope!
explore animal and plant cells
learn cell theory
engage in on theme art activities
use geography to explore microscopic differences
use creative writing to explore the theme
use personification with microbes
and of course - much more!
 
This 80+ page resource is a fantastic introduction to microbiology aimed at ages 12-16. Use your discretion for your own children. You’ll need a microscope for the 6 labs but the rest of the activities can be done sans microscope. I’ve included a good selection of activities that are family friendly and scalable for younger students as well. 
 
Timeline: 18 lessons - recommended 3x a week for 6 weeks
